The triple spiral is an ancient symbol referenced extensively in Celtic culture from 500BC onwards. It signified the triple aspects of Life, Death, and Rebirth, and the triple aspects of the Goddess in the Maiden, Mother, and Crone. In Ireland it was associated with the war goddess triad of Morrigan, Badb, and Macha, who would manifest to warriors upon the field of battle in the piercing caw of ravens.

As this is hard enamel, it is far more durable than the more common soft enamel pins, and the coloured enamel sections are flush with the metal, creating a smooth and resilient surface. The pin has a metal locking back. The pin is shipped with a full colour backing card, in protective packaging, which makes it very well suited to be given as a gift.
